Didn't I tell you that the "muslim terrorism" BS would backfire?

On Meet the Press, Powell said he was endorsing Obama because the McCain campaign was "going too far" with the whole Bill Ayers controversy and the other terrorist allegations circulating about Obama. Powell said he was bothered by members of his own party referring to Obama as a muslim and these things were allowed to be said unchecked. He pointed out that a young American soldier died in Iraq that was muslim. He pointed out that "small towns aren't the only ones with values," and his party was headed in the wrong direction. As I predicted, the Republican strategy of stoking fear and trying to "connect Obama to some terrorist feelings" (as Powell puts it) has put off a lot of intelligent Americans and has backfired. Who else believes they've gone too far?
