Please, how can I help? I hate shady people?

Your relative might be able to join the suit or file a suit of his own. You would not have legal standing to do this if your money is not at stake. The lawyers for the plaintiffs should be informed of the evasive actions of the thieves like selling the house, which could probably be attached and a lien filed or the court could tie up the proceeds. The attorneys for the plaintiffs might allow your relative to join the suit as a co-plaintiff, or if not your relative should obtain legal advice based on the facts that you know. If your relative won't do that, there is little or nothing that you can do about it.
