Does anyone use satellite internet service?

Ok, my question is to anyone who has or had internet through satellite. I'm starting school this summer and I'm doing some online cles, I do not want dial up internet service and where I live does not offer high speed internet yet. I can get satellie internet through WildBlue, Hughes Net, or through directv. I just wanted to know if anyone has any of them and how the service is, it all seem very expensive.
