I don't see many explouds in emerald... Just wondering... is it a good pokemon to have on the team?

Besides its unique soundwave attacks, which i think is quite cool... I mean being normal type it doesn't have many weaknesses but it only does normal damage to other type pokemon. I don't know why so many people prefer Linoone or Zangoose but seriously... those two are so common among trainers... Iwant something different... Pls help! Thanks in advance! :D
